Customer Count Overview
The Provent Traffic Counter System is simple. Provent will enable a wireless network in your store so an unlimited amount of wireless traffic counters can be used.  Then, the traffic data is collected in Provent’s online web portal for easy viewing and analysis.

In store wireless network

The wireless network is a micro server that Provent provides you with. It’s comes with a wireless receiver which receives data from any of the traffic coining devices around your building. The micro server does periodic uploads of data to Provent’s servers and portal. The traffic counters need a power source to work. From there you can count two doorways per traffic counting. Please note, you have to run cable from the traffic counters to the wireless box and the wireless box must be plugged in to power. From there the signal is wireless to the micro server.Areas to track Where the sensors work
Door counters
Provent door counters have the ability to count traffic in any doorway or aisle. Whenever someone breaks the beam, it will count traffic . This solution can be adapted to count traffic in a single direction as well as traffic moving in and out.

Hall counters

The Hall Counter solution is great for counting traffic in large store openings, as well as tracking numbers of people who enter a specific department of your store. Provent hall counters use a double infrared beam to count traffic over a wide area (20-40 ft). This system uses beams which are broken to count traffic entering or leaving an area.
Turnstile & gate counters
The Provent Turnstile Solution can be installed (and retro-fitted) with Provent Traffic Counting. You can control your customer flow and count them. All in one solution!

Provent Retail Portal

To access your traffic counting reports and figures, simply sign into the Provent Portal. From there, you will be able to analyze your traffic data in a multitude of ways, as well as import the results directly into Excel. The Provent portal assigns a user a name and password to log in. Users can be given varying access rights to the system. This means that while a user can see traffic data and dashboards from all store locations, another might be able to only see one store. Also, traffic data and reports can be customized based on a user’s access rights.

Traffic data and you

Phase One

Provent offers two levels of data and tools with our traffic counting system. Phase 1 is our standard reporting process. In its most rudimentary form, Provent Traffic Counting will immediately be able to tell you what occurred in the store, when people came in, and where they went in the store. Phase one tools include:

  •  Table it - a breakdown of the counts by 15 or 30 minute intervals. It can be downloaded in excel or txt file.
  • Date it - Choose the doors or areas you want to count and get a summary of each day’s activity in a monthly calendar output.
  • Graph it -  A graphical output of  any combination of doors and timing
  • A SQL or XML data feed -  we can provide the traffic counting data for you to import into your own IT infrastructure

Phase Two

Once we have a critical mass of data our analysts will help tailor true management tools for your specific situations and needs.
